Station Summary: Week ending August 16, 2025

Rain, warmer temperatures returned

The week began with a complex of storms across the southeast quadrant of Nebraska that delivered significant rainfall to the Highway 6/34 corridor from Clay Center to Weeping Water. Additional precipitation fell across southeast Nebraska on Monday. Temperatures were seasonal to seasonally cool to start the week but warmed up midweek, particularly in the western half of the state. By Friday temperatures in the 90's had spread to the entire state and parts of the Panhandle and southwest Nebraska saw triple digit readings on Thursday and Friday. The western and northern parts of the state were on the periphery of a ridge late in the week and some areas did receive showers and storms during the evening hours late in the week. Pockets of Sheridan and Cherry counties received well over an inch.
