The week started off warm with widespread showers and thunderstorms on Monday afternoon and night with dozens of hail and wind reports between I-80 and Highway 20. Cooler temperatures returned to the state briefly but began warming up in western Nebraska on Wednesday. By Thursday, temperatures were in the 90s statewide and Imperial managed the first 100°F reading for the 2025 calendar year in Nebraska. High temperatures peaked on Friday and Saturday with most locations at or above 100°F. Only Bushnell managed to stay under 95°F last week. Saturday morning saw record warm overnight lows in Lincoln, Omaha, Norfolk, Hastings, Grand Island, and North Platte. For Omaha and Norfolk, the lows of 82°F and 79°F were tied for the warmest ever minimum temperatures in the month of June. Most sites were dry at the end of the week with insane rates of potential evapotranspiration, due partly to the very strong winds.

Note that COOP observers often have a reporting time of 6:00 or 7:00 AM each day, which would typically reflect the high temperature from the afternoon before.
